DIVA Pro 2.0 ISA Adapter
UnixWare 7 supports the DIVA Pro 2.0 ISA Adapter.
To complete configuration for this adapter, the Network
Configuration Manager prompts you for:
- Interrupt Vector (IRQ)
- I/O Address
- ISDN Address (B-channel 1 and 2)
Specify your Local ISDN Number. This
information is provided by your ISDN service provider.
- ISDN Subaddress (B-channel 1 and 2)
If two local terminals share the same ISDN
Number, enter a Local Subaddress to further identify the
terminal on the ISDN Basic Rate Interface (BRI).
Subaddresses provide an additional addressing capability
outside of the ISDN numbering plan. Subaddresses are
transparent to the public network. For example, a
subaddress can be used to identify a particular station
on a Private Branch Exchange. A Local Subaddress is not
always required and is defined by the user.
- Service Profile Identifier (SPID) (B-channel 1 and 2)
Only applies to the ISDN protocols NI-1 or
AT&T 5ESS Custom. Specifies the SPIDs that the driver
uses to communicate with the ISDN switch. Your ISDN
service provider assigns the SPIDs for the ISDN line. For
the proper SPID values, refer to the documentation
provided when you ordered your ISDN line, or contact your
ISDN service provider.
NOTE:
SPID values are not always
required by your ISDN service provider for the AT&T
5ESS Custom Protocol.

Advanced Network Driver Configuration
- Layer 2 Mode - D-channel Connection
This setting controls the type of ISDN D-channel/Layer 2
connection.
Normal operation: The D-channel/Layer 2 connection is
maintained only while there is a B-channel connection to
a remote system.
Never deactivated: The D-channel/Layer 2 connection is
activated when the initial B-channel connection is made
and is maintained until the DIVA software is stopped.
Always active: The D-channel/Layer 2 connection is set up
immediately and maintained.
- TEI Value Assignment - Terminal Endpoint Identifier (TEI)
The TEI value enables data in the ISDN control-channel to
be assigned for the logical connection between ISDN
network termination (NT) and ISDN device. With the
parameter TEI the ISDN card can be configured for
automatic issue of the TEI value or a fixed value can be
assigned to it.
The following values can be assigned for the TEI:
- Dynamic - a TEI value is automatically
assigned by the ISDN network termination (NT).
- 1-63 - for nonautomatic TEI assignment user
equipment.
