The error log contains the error messages in the network. Error messages appear in the /var/spool/uucp/.Admin/errors file. When the errors occur, the program aborts. In most cases, this results from file-system problems. A typical entry is as follows:

type program procID time mesg num module linenum

where:

type
error type

program
program name

procID
process ID

time
date and time that this entry was written to the file

mesg
error message

num

module
name of calling module

linenum

An example entry is:

ASSERT ERROR (uucico) pid: 1513 (5/15-9:03:45) can't open system 3 [FILE:pk1.c, LINE:356]
