Administering port monitors

Removing a port monitor

To remove a port monitor pmtag from the system, use the following command:

sacadm -r -p pmtag

The port monitor entry is removed from the SAC administrative file and the SAC daemon rereads the file. If the removed port monitor is not running, no further action is taken. If the removed port monitor is running, the SAC daemon sends it a SIGTERM signal to indicate it should shut down. Note that the port monitor's directory structure remains intact but is no longer referenced by anything.
