_verify(D2mdi)

_verify -- verify that the MDI driver supports a particular device

Syntax

See _verify(D2) for syntax, context, and general usage information about this entry point routine.

Usage

The verify( ) entry point routine is used to support enhanced autodetection for ISA devices. It is used in conjunction with the ISAVERIFY parameter in the driver's bcfg(DSP/4dsp) file.

Version applicability

mdi: 2, 2.1 running with ddi: 7, 7mp.

Differences between versions

MDI drivers running with DDI 8 should implement this functionality with the CFG_VERIFY subfunction of the config(D2mdi) entry point routine. See the config(D2mdi) manual page for detailed information about the coding required for ISA drivers; this information is appropriate for the _verify( ) entry point for DDI 7 drivers.
