Installing, managing, and removing software

Viewing properties of installed applications (Application Installer)

To view the properties (such as application name, type, and version) of applications or application sets installed on your system:

  1. Start the Application Installer.

  2. Click on the icon representing the application or set.

  3. Click on the Info button.

  4. The following properties are displayed:

    Application Name
    the abbreviated name of the application

    Description
    the full name of the application

    Category
    the type of application (application or application set)

    Vendor
    the name of the company that produced the application

    Version
    the version number of the application

    Architecture
    the type of computer for which the application was written (For example, i386 which includes other Intel processors in the same family, such as i486 and Pentium chips)

    Date Installed
    the date and time the application was installed

    Size (blocks)
    the number of blocks of disk space the application consumes

  5. Click on Cancel to close the window.
